We're delighted to share that we've been appointed by Welsh Water for a new contract at Bretton Water Works, supporting essential upgrading and maintenance across the site. It's a project we're genuinely pleased to be involved in — and one that follows on directly from an earlier contract we completed together.

We're a family-run GRP manufacturer based in Lowestoft, Suffolk, and this kind of work is very much in our wheelhouse. For over 40 years we've been building bespoke, corrosion-resistant components for industrial and utilities sites across the UK, and water treatment infrastructure is territory we know well.

That’s exactly what has happened for DK Fibreglass Works Ltd, as the Lowestoft-based GRP specialist has secured a new contract with Boniface Engineering, a leading manufacturer of recovery equipment and tow trucks used by operators across the UK and beyond.

On 11 March 2026, DK Fibreglass Works Ltd marks 41 years in business – four decades of glass reinforced plastic (GRP) manufacturing, problem‑solving and partnership with customers across the UK.

From a small family start in 1985 to a third‑generation manufacturer working across industrial, marine, automotive, agricultural, leisure and equestrian sectors, this anniversary is about more than a date on the calendar. It is a moment to look back at where the business began, celebrate how far it has come, and share where DK is heading next.

January is usually the month when many businesses are easing back into the year. At DK Fibreglass, it has been quite the opposite. 

 From our base in Lowestoft, Suffolk, our family‑run team has been manufacturing glass reinforced plastic (GRP) components for customers across the UK for over 40 years. This latest milestone is a clear sign of how far the business has progressed – and of the confidence our customers place in us when they plan their GRP projects for the year ahead.

This year has been a particularly exciting one for DK Fibreglass Works. We’ve been fortunate to welcome several new customers across a number of sectors, and it’s been great to see our work supporting a wide variety of applications. Alongside that, we’ve continued strengthening the relationships we already have, delivering the same dependable service and attention to detail that our customers expect.

Looking ahead, we’re pleased to say that 2026 is already shaping up to be just as busy and rewarding. We’ve got new projects in the pipeline and we’re also working on expansion plans, allowing us to continue growing our capabilities and meeting demand — while maintaining the quality standards that sit at the heart of what we do.

We’re delighted to share that DK Fibreglass Works has commenced a new contract with Welsh Water, working as part of the refurbishment of a water treatment plant.

This is a project we’re proud to be involved in, and it represents the result of several months of planning and preparation between both teams to ensure everything is set up for a smooth start on site. From early scoping discussions through to practical trials, the focus has been on getting the details right and confirming the best solution for the demands of the refurbishment.

A key part of the lead-in period has been prototype testing, including controlled trials and refinements to validate the approach. In addition, we’ve completed laboratory testing on all materials, providing additional assurance around performance, compatibility, and suitability — particularly important in water treatment environments where durability, safety, and long-term reliability are essential.

We value the collaborative approach that has been taken throughout this process, and we’re pleased to be working with Welsh Water as the project moves into delivery. Our team is looking forward to supporting the refurbishment works and contributing to a successful outcome for the site.
